Verdant Moon is a cult originally based on the Pact Worlds planet of Verces and established sometime during 301-303 AG.

In the following decades, their members would become ubiquitous at starports across the Pact Worlds, engaging in silent, peaceful vigils against the use of Drift technology.

They protest the use of Drift engines due to their inherent nature of pulling pieces of various planes into the Drift each time a vessel crosses the threshold. They believe it is immoral to damage the planes of existence for purposes of commerce and recreation; and that inevitably this will lead to the destruction of all life. This destruction, in their view, is further compounded by the colonization of systems, notably in Near Space, to exploit for resources; especially to further expanding starship construction and operation beyond the Pact Worlds system.

It is noted that they do not inherently oppose intra-system space travel, having spread throughout the Pact Worlds system. They rely exclusively upon starships whose manufacture and maintenance adhere to whatever internal “green standard” the Verdant Moon finds acceptable.

They point to First Contact with the Vesk and the arrival of the Swarm as evidence of the consequences of Drift technology being unleashed upon the galaxy. More recently they have begun to speak out against the Starfinder Society for provoking the Jinzul during the Scoured Stars Incident as well as their ongoing plans to explore the Vast.
