The entity known as “Doc” is an SRO of unknown origin that was recovered during a Starfinder Society mission in the Vast by Captain Chet Alaric in 313 AG.

While on this mission, Captain Alaric, then a commander, was separated from his group and seriously injured. According to the Alaric’s recount it was the SRO who found him and provided Alaric with the assistance needed to rejoin his group.

With no discovery of intelligent life anywhere in the vicinity, Alaric elected to return with the SRO in his custody; overcoming his captain’s initial objections.

Upon return to the Pact Worlds, Alaric resisted efforts by the Society to conduct a thorough study of the SRO. Alaric protested plans that involved dismantling the alien SRO for analysis. He was later joined in his efforts by his CO, Captain Tomara Kantali. Together they petitioned the Society Forum to grant Alaric the salvage rights to the SRO. To help convince the Society, Alaric agreed to permit passive study of the SRO and pledged to apprise the Society of any discoveries related to the SRO’s origins should he learn them.

The Society would eventually agree and under the Pact World Salvage Regulatory Statutes Act, the SRO was ultimately remanded to Alaric.

It now functions as a defacto steward and personal assistant to Alaric; and currently serves as a crew member of SEF Radcliffe under Alaric’s command.

No formal designation for this SRO has yet been submitted to the Starfinder Society.
